A Time To Go Walking
Written by Peter McGarry
Directed by Winnie Wenglewick
The time is 1952, the rural west of Ireland. Dicky is a dreamer in a world that is hard on dreamers. He can feel the coldness of approaching death, which according to Celtic lore means it's time to go walking - for a man must face his fate.
Kate, his wife, is more pragmatic. She's a teasing but loving spitfire with no time for Dicky's foolishness.
Based on the novels of John B. Keane, this play examines simple but paramount questions, the only kind that ever matter at the end: How will we be remembered? Have we been happy? Was ours a life worth living?
